I need to know what size battery goes in a 1988 Four Winns 160 Freedom?

If I recall correctly, the Freedom is powered by an outboard engine. The battery size should be determined by the engine, not the boat. As long as the battery is powerful enough to start the engine, you should be able to use whatever battery fits in the available space.

I have an 87 Freedom 160, and I just put a brand new 1000 amp battery in mine. Of course the dealer installed for free when I bought the boat but that's besides the point. If you have the 3.0L anything over 600 amps should work fine. Does your Freedom have two batterys or one?
