I'm looking for a cooling system hose that's located towards the rear of the starboard side of the KC 460 engine. It's a molded hose that's 7 in long with a 1 in ID on one end and a 3/4 ID on the other. I've searched numerous part houses. Anyone got any ideas?

Howdy,

Which hose are you talking about? raw or closed cooled? Is this the one that goes from the transom to the oil cooler or pwr steering cooler?

It's sort of unlikely you'll find one. When I got to that point I was just going to make something that would fit.

I made another complete engine/drive fit instead but you should easily be able fabricate something. I may even have that very hose sitting in a box in the shop. but it's going to be a used one probably not much better than what you have right now...

Would it be possible to make an adapter that was 1" dia on one side and 3/4" dia on the other side? Then you could use two separate hoses of the right size and just join them at the adapter.

Thanks for the reply's. It's the raw system. The boat was taking on water and i saw a stream of water coming from the hose. I'm not sure what it connects to. One end connects to something on the rear of the engine and the other end connects to another hose which goes towards the front somewhere. It was really difficult to get to. It does have a number on it and it looks like 8001CM. That number doesn't come up anywhere online and one of the guys I talked with on the phone at Doug Russell Marine had no idea.

Well, I found the part and what it goes to. It was actually an oil cooler hose. Thanks again for the reply's. They got tme to thinking about other cooling components that might use hoses. These forums are really great help for dummies like me!
