I was just given this motor by a friend because it was siezed and he didn't want to mess with it. I removed the exhaust cover to look at the pistons and didn't see any obvious damage or heavy rust.I loaded it with penetrating oils last night and it still wont budge.Any tips or suggestions short of removing the powerhead for a rebuild? I'd like to at least get it to turn over to check spark and such before I go all the way with it.Thanks in advance for any advice.SN is<br />OB245533 which I was told was a 1988.

Other than continued, liberal application of penetrating oil and gentle force to move the pistons and crank, nothing. You will have to be patient and work it slowly. These can be costly to repair, if there is alot of damage to the cylinder or pistons. Good luck and keep us informed!

Hi Rick....you can also take the head off and soak it good then take a piece of wood and put it against the piston tops and tap with a hammer. May break them lose. Don't give them a full #1 Wood swing....

Take the gearcase off first , to make sure that is not the cause of seizure.
