I hit an underwater cable about a month ago, cut it up pretty good too. Now the boat won't get up on plane. I thought it was a spun hub so I took it to a shop and he said it was fine but my prop was way out of balance. $175 later I still have the problem. Before I hit the cable it ran fine. But now it won't get on plane or go over 2200 rpm's. Any one got any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Bryan

Rodbolt I really appreciate you trying to help me with this one. I read a lot of your posts. Here we go. Motor runs fine at an idle. It starts shaking bad, and won't go over 2200 rpm's. It was running fine until I hit the cable. It topped out around 64 mph. When I hit the cable I was barely going at idle speed. I first thought WTF then I looked at the depth and I was in 14ft of H2O. The boat just kind of stopped in it's place. I thought I couldn't be hooked to the cable b/c these guys ( the guys putting out the bouys for the rowing team are supposed to put them straight down and the link them together) . I guess they tried to cut cornors and just go barely below the water line. It runs fine at an idle but as soon as you get on the gas it just doesn't go. I even treid to give it a little more choke to see if that would help , but it started to die , like a motor when you've flooded it. I just can't figure it out.
B

I almost forgot there are no alarms or visible problems I can see. I know the low alarm sensor works. It came on last year before I had to change out the cdi unit. It worked fine after that.
B

As rodbolt said, you are going to do or have done the basic tests of compression and fire before any one can help you. Also test the sensors.
