88 Special stator resistance?

1996 J88TSLEDR.

I have a customer with persistent battery problems. I checked for draw with everything turned off and there isn't so much as a milliamp anywhere. I checked the charging system and the rectifier diodes check out okay. It doesn't have a regulator. Voltage goes up with RPMs, but I'm not impressed. I can't get more than 13v DC. I can easily get 14-15v on the AC side, but the DC side won't go over 13. The battery is new last October and we replaced the rectifier (the original was bad) at that time as well.

I have 1.4 ohms on the yellow stator leads with no continuity to ground. Is that within spec?

Thanks in advance.

Second question, what kind of amps does this charging system put out? Can it keep up with a livewell pump and your average locator?

The unregulated rectifier is 6 amps. It will maintain a large dual purpose deep cycle battery with minimal accessories.
