My engine was knocking badly and also would ceased up. I tore it down and am looking at the crank, bearings, pistons, cylinders etc. I can't find anything wrong except a couple lower rings on two piston are stuck due to carbon. I had a mechanic look at it and he can't find anything wrong either. He says maybe a little water was leaking in and causing the loud knocking. I am going to put new rings and gaskets on it and seal it back up. Does this sound right? any comments? It was knocking really load.
