88 SPL Water pump rotation

So what is the correct rotation for the impeller? I just want to make sure it goes back together right and the old one was not installed wrong. Thanks

Clockwise looking down on the pump when it on the shaft? Just making sure . It was a real PIA getting the gear box off so I want to do it once.

Yes, same direction as the flywheel - clockwise looking down.

Depends, are you in the northern or southern hemisphere?

If you have a counter-rotating lower unit, it's clockwise lying on your back looking up at the gearcase.

Even on OMC / BRP counter gearcases it's still clockwise looking down. If you run into an old Second Effort counter gearcase, it's backwards. But thats a whole different pump housing and the motor actually runs backwards.
