Does anyone know: If I open my reverse lockout unit on my "75 Mercruiser 888 to replace the leaking O-ring inside, will it spew oil under pressure? I'm thinking that if I raise the trim so most of the fluid is pulled into the cylinders I might be OK. Or am I just asking for a shot of fluid in the face?
THANKS AS ALWAYS!

Re: 888 reverse lock out

The system is "At Rest" when the outdrive is fully Down...........

With it Down,...... There'll be Leakage,......
With it Up,........ You might get Shot in the Face..............
