Recently purchased 100 hp Sea ray. Had trouble starting after sitting on the lake a bit. A gentleman assisted us and said 'Did you try 'fast idle'? He moved throttle lever fwd. and turned key and it popped right off. How did he do this? When I hooked up to muffs at home to start when ever i try moving throttle fwd. key will not engage starter. Manual says push 'Throttle Only' button in while advancing lever forward. My throttle lever does not have that 'Throttle Only' Button, Just the lever, trim up/down button and button underneath handle for shifting. Thanks in advance!

There are different styles of controls !---Yours may require to pull the lever out from the box to get the " fast idle " feature to work.---Your manual will have the details on how to disengage the shift function.

Or button on the throttle lever needs to be pushed in to disengage the shifter.

I have the exact same motor. With my Quicksilver control you push in the Mercury logo in the center of the control. Hold that in while squeezing throttle release and, move it forward. Hope that helps.
