89 115 IL6 Serial# isn't Normal

The serial # 06478920 is not in with any grouping of numbers that I have seen so far. <br />Here is what is on most web sites for this year/model.<br />Year Serial #<br />79-89 5314656-5600966<br />81-89 5314657& Up<br />89-93 C100001-D283221<br /><br />Yet if I look it up on Mercexpressparts (whatever) it does bring things up.

Yours is a 1984 model. <br /><br />6440183-6630170= 1984<br /><br />They did not make the IL6 in 1989. The IL6 was made from 1970-1988.

Unicorn - yes it is a brown banded unit. <br />Is melborne near the ocean or are you inland?<br />I've dreamed of snorkeling around the Great Barrier! Did you know it's estimated to be about 4300 years old - that's about the same time that Noah's flood is calculated to have taken place.

Rich<br /><br />Melbourne is way down south, near Tasmania.We are 15km From Port Phillip Bay, and about 1 hr to the Ocean.
