Maybe you can source that power valve somewhere and keep your old one for a spare. While boat mechanics can be totally booked, consider restoration shops that cater to classic American cars. Back in the day the most common carbs we had were Rochesters (GM products) Carter (Mopar products now the Edelbrock used today is that carb updated) and Ford/Motorcraft. Holley was always the big aftermarket carb for drag racers who were willing to tinker with them for more HP. So anybody who works on or restores American cars know Holley carbs like the back of their hand. And there are very few differences between auto or marine applications. So look in different places you may get lucky. Here in the USA probably 85% of hot rods you will see with the Holley. You see some Quadrajets on GM cars because they were OE and Carters on Chrysler products.

Holley has a factory rebuild service. If you could ship the original carburetor to them over the winter then you have the correct carburetor set to original specefications.

my bud in scotland just ordered a bunch of parts from Speedway and Rock auto here in the US for his 1950 chevy truck. only took 4 days to get to him. (as compared to the 6 days it takes just to get to me here in Florida sometimes)

I would order what you need and have shipped.

Glad you got it fixed.

To these guys point , I understand that it can be tough to get parts and things repaired where you are. But don't give up on that carb , a rebuild kit is cheap and if I remember correctly a power valve change involves removing 4 screws and maybe a razor blade - super easy !

The group on this forum or even a YouTube video could walk you through it.
