**89 60 horse johnson gas leak**

i have a 89 johnson 60 horse that leaks gas out of the black housing at the front of the motor when it is tilted all the way up. when it is tilted up it is almost horizontial.the housing i assume is the air intake ? the cork gasket is cracked at the bottom where the gas leaks out. is this going to affect the perfomance of the motor at all? i plan on replacing the gasket sometime. also i assume it is leaking the gas out because of being tilted at to much of an angle? let me know what you think thanks alot

It won't hurt to run it that way. Just make sure no piece of that gasket breaks off and goes into the caburetors.

There should be a hose that goes from the bottom back side of the air box to the intake manifold. That tube is for draining just what you describe.
