Hello all, I had my powerhead rebuilt last summer by 1Outboard. They adjusted the shift rod when they put the powerhead back on. They ran the motor with the muffs on and put into forward and reverse gears???, seemed to go right into both gears. When I put the boat into the lake it would grind and not fully ingage into forward. It would move the boat forward slowly. After checking out I adjusted the cable to make the shift rod move a little further in the forward direction. The problem is now reverse grinds, if I put it into reverse and then nutral and then reverse again it usually ingages fully. The manual I have dosn't explain how to make shift adjustments. Is one of my cables streched and needs replaced? Do I need to get the lower unit rebuilt? Any help would be appricated. Thanks

Do you have the boat owners manual? If so, it should have the adjustments for the control quadrant it it. The Force manual will explain the linkage in the lower but that won't help you. If you don't have a manual, try looking on ebay as there are always manuals for sale there.

What kind of boat is this engine installed on?

I do not have the owners manual, I bought the boat used. The motor is on a 19' Spectrum.
