planning on recarpeting (and replacing front deck and floorboard) my 17 ft 1989 bass tracker. its my first boat fix of any kind. ive got a pretty good idea of all thats involved by researching and reading these forums, but can anyone tell me how much carpet i should expect to need. im in kuwait right now and want to get started as soon as i get back, so id like to go ahead and order everything i can so i can start work immediately.

Re: 89 bass tracker restoration

I have a 17' Tracker that I am in the middle of restoring. I measured my boat for carpet and came-up with around 13 yards I will need. The problem is I am sure our boats are not identical. I have changed the configuration (casting deck sq. footage, storage, etc.) of my boat to suit my needs. If you want an accurate measurement for your boat I would recommend waiting until you return home, then measuring it to ensure you order only what you need. Good luck.

I used 30 lin. ft. of 6' (20 sq. yds.) wide on my Tracker Pro Deep V and very little left over and very little waste. If you measure everything out, you will need more than that. Remember that carpet has a directional grain and has got to be laid in the same direction to look right.

I'd wait to order until you get a chance to measure it and figure it out,...

Most places get get it shipped out and to you in under a week,........
