well were getting ready for season 2 and i was out firing the engine up checking the power and all that stuff looked good. but of course there's always a propblem and this years no differant i started the motor and she fired up nicely smoked a little but fogging will do that but what i noticed along with the smoke was oil blowing from my prop any idea's on what's causeing oil to blow from there and a plan to fix it would be a lot of help, <br />thanks <br />marty

You'll usually see the sheen on the water when running on muffs Marty. If you really fogged it good, you'll see a little more until it's all burnt out. If your premixing, using to much oil in the gas will cause this also. <br /><br />Did you let the engine warm up on muffs? You'll see a little more until it does. <br /><br />What's it look like with the boat in the water?

if no other running problems are noted place the engine under a load and run at medium throttle for a bit then retest. its normal to get waste oil especially after fogging and sitting. takes a long time to get it out just idling. you may wish to see if its gearcase oil. but usuaally if its black and smells like gas its waste oil.<br /> so you may not have a problem at all.<br /> :) <br /> wouldnt that be nice
