On my 89' Evinrude 90hp V4, it would run decent but would bog down on say 2 foot swells (loss of power) and had a hard time getting on plane. I decarbed it using a gallon of fresh gas and 16oz. can of Sea Foam. She smoked like crazy for all three 15 minute sessions. After that, she got some of her power back but still not where she should be. So with the carbs not being rebuilt in years, I decided to rebuild the carbs, replaced the plug wires and replaced the therostats (water pump will be next). I took her out to the lake today to see how she runs. NOT TOO GOOD! She fired right up but the RPM's shot up to 1200 - 1400 at idle. When I put her in gear, she bogged down and wouldn't get over 2000 RPM. It sounded like she wasn't getting enough fuel. I had my buddy pump the bulb while WOT but didn't make a difference. Also pulled the fuel line from the VRO/Fuel pump and cranked the motor. Fuel pumped out. So I know the fuel pump is working. I am getting plenty of spark as well. With the motor running, I am getting 12.4 volts according to the display on my Humming Bird.
I am guessing that I didn't get the floats set correctly on the carbs. Would that cause the problem I am having? Any and all help is most appriciated. Thank you in advance.
