89 force 50 hp I need to replace exhaust Gaskets. Please help me with instructions on how to do it. Any special tricks anything to watch out for anything I should not do.

The very hard to find kit came with 3 gaskets. Where can I find a tool to hold the fly wheel while I loosen up the too nut? Do I remove the lower leg? The cowling? What about stubborn nuts with rust ??? I'm ready to do this please I beg your help!

The flywheel nut, you have an impact?
No impact, unhook the battery, turn the bendix on the starter till it engages the flywheel.
Then insert a screwdriver between the bendix and the flywheel. This will hold the flywheel in place so you can undo the nut.
Do the same to install and tourqe the nut. 80#
Yes remove the lower, it will be easier to put it back together with it off.
Take off cowling too. The cowling has rubber shock ounts,be careful when undoing.
You might destroy them when you take them apart.

PB Blaster is the best I've found for removing nuts. But it takes a couple of days for it to work it's way in.
Spray and let it set.Spray every day for 3-4 days.

Thank you I will start treating the bolts starting today. Do I need to remove everything around the motor??? What about te middle part of the lower leg? Above te gears??? How long should this job take me after I've soaked the bolts and actually get started?

You should be able to do it in an afternoon. Might be a good idea to take some digital pictures of everything before you take it all apart. Things like the wiring and connections, all the hoses etc.

When attempting to remove the bolts from the exhaust plate, after spraying/soaking, use very light weight tools (1/4" drive ratchet/small wrench) will lessen the chances of breaking off the bolts if corroded.
When I did mine, I was surprised none were stuck too bad.
Test turn easy does it, they might come right out.
Takes a while cleaning them up (old factory goo was a bear)

Thank you - I'm taking things slow and taking pictures and mapping things out and writing notes along.
