Well, I have a 89 force 85hp ob used to be an easy starter no matter cold or warm. Recently I found that it is impossible to start. I open the cover and see what is wrong while I ask my buddy to crank it. I notice that when my buddy push the key in the choke engage like it should but then when he turn the key the choke release before the starter even kick in. So no start like usual. Then I hold down the choke using my hand and ask my buddy to crank it and it fire right up like it used to be, then it will work whole day without and issue "warm start always good". So my only issue is that the choke was release too easy. What should I check for in this case. The key is working, and the choke engage like it should. Just that it didn't hold till the start kick in? Please help me with this, so that I don't have to open the cover and hold the choke for every cold start. Thanks

Dirty contacts???
WD 40 in the key switch.Spray and turn.Spray and turn and push in choke.
Remove it(don't unhook the wires)spray and shake and turn the key and repeat.

Your post was a bit ambiguous so I will go over the basic.

The choke will not stay on if the key is not held pushed in while cranking. Thus, you must push and hold while turning to start position.

Yes, I know that, I will try to clean the key switch like Jerry suggested, will post the result

no help, the jerry method work like 2-3 times then it is the same thing again. I am too cheap to buy a new key switch. can I just somehow install a button sprate from the key to engage the choke? I have a lot of the temp push "on" button and release back to "off".

You can do that but it will require two hands to do the start and choke. I wonder if you're not too cheap to buy a contact cleaner at Radio Shack? It comes in a spray can. Do the same thing as Jerry mentioned but this time use contact cleaner. The WD40 is good for flaky or sticky switches but in your case is a dirty contact (or could be a worn out one which can only be fixed by replacing it), I think.
