I dont have any leaks, checked all fuel connections and carbs.I would think that if it runs and idles fine for awhile even after the hard start that it couldnt be an air leak.I also cleaned the carbs and checked the floats.I just put a new cd module in about a month ago could the timing be an issue?

It's time for a compression test.
These engines often start leaking at the exaust port plate gaskets.
Primary cause of failure of this gasket is running an improper, or no thermostat, changing the temps inside the exaust port, while running in ice cold water--thus warping the plates, causing the gaskets to fail, yadayada. Not much you can do about it, but buy a gasket set for the plates and head, and replace them.
Not sayin this is your motor's failure, but a higher than average possabiltiy, and the first place I would look.

While the plugs are out for the compression test, look for a very clean plug or plugs. This would indicate water injestion, which is steam-cleaning them, and the head gasket should be replaced, and compression re-checked.

Still vapor lock, just a different vapor.
