I do not get wot at the carbs with any combination of adjustments. There is quite a bit of travel left to be horizontal. Could a bad cable cause this? There is a good 1/4 inch of play in the cable but I would think this is normal. I was going forward with a link and sync per manual but it will not achieve wot. I don't want replace the cable only to have the same problem. Thanks

johny, take a few pictures of both the control unit and the engine where the cables are connected. There should be adjustments at the engine point to take out the slack. And if the controls are in good working condition, then you will need to adjust the cables at the engine connection. So post those pictures where we can see what you are seeing and working with... JMHO!

I can adjust the cable to just hold against the idle stop screw but as I advance the throttle there is just not enough range to open the the throttle valves. I have played with all of the adjustments and it will not achieve correct adj. at idle and wot. I have removed the cables and all is lubed and all levers are smooth and free at the engine. I also had the control box apart and inspected and lubed it as well. I will post pics asap. Thanks

I am thinking it may be some slop in the control box as the throttle pivot had some side to side play. That and the cable that's probably had it. Are parts available for these boxes. I didn't see any #s on it.

Are you using the shifter to advance the throttle or are you using the fast idle lever?

It is very easy to get the box back together wrong. If you get a lot of motion on the handle before the cable starts to move, spilt it apart and check everything again. The pivot mechanism for the fast idle has to be exactly right or you'll get the problem you describe. It is also easy to get broken plastic parts that still look OK.. Parts are available the last time I needed any.

I replaced the spring washer under the fast idle lever which was broken and replaced the cable. Problem solved. Thanks for your help.
