Hi all,

I have been looking through old posts for answers.
I am still hoping for a little input.

Here is what I have so far:

1989 60 HP Johnson 3 cylinder.
Middle cylinder has low compression (possibly None, trying to recall).
Yes, engine was run very lean (VRO oil tank pretty much empty).
Was run this way for more than an hour.
Motor still runs, kinda. Spits/kicks/knocks and yells obscenities.

Any rough guess as to what a rebuild should cost?
Looking for a worst case scenario here.
Any input appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

The oil injection is not cylinder selective. More than likely, a clogged carb. caused the meltdown.

If you do everything yourself, figure about $200.00/cylinder.

A professional rebuild will cost anywhere from $1,700.00 to $2,200.00. I know this because I have the identical engine in the same shape.:(

Thanks guys,

Trying to decide if it is worth putting the $ into it. I'd rather be boating than hiking this year. :)
