Per the service book, on a new installation...

fill tank, pump bulb to purge line, when oil appears at the end of feed line wipe clean and connect it to the nipple and clamp it.
Run engine on premix until you can see its actually drawing the oil level down in the tank, then switch to straight fuel in the tank.

Make sure theres no water in the oil tank, it happens and the water sits at the bottom beneath the oil. CArry extra oil onboard just in case the pump goes out.

Test the oil tank alarm system if your model has it, it starts beeping when down around 1/4 tank, constant beep when empty.

The factory service manual is $45 VERY well spent on these engines.

or you can just plug the oil lines disconnect the alarm and pre mix..guaranteed to have the oil in the fuel then.
