I've got a 1989 Merc 40 horse classic, if it sits for a few weeks, the carbs are filled with oil causing a no start. I loosen the lower bowl screws, drain the oil out of both carbs and bingo it runs great. It has a new oil tank on it and the carbs have been rebuilt. Does anyone have an idea? I'm thinking something to do with the oil pump?? Then I am told no... But that is why I now ask you guys. I have only had this motor since last fall and it runs great other than this issue. Thanks ahead for any help.
