89 merc 80hp oil injection..to disconect or leave alone

hi all last year i used my oil injection and it worked fine someone said to check all the old oil lines to replace them, i am asking for some imput about this. as i will be dewinterizing this boat late this year....<br />but last yr was one of my better yrs 17ft cobia 80 hp merc<br />thanks all bob in philly

My philosophy is, if it aint broke don't fix it. Sound advise about the lines. The lines on my 92 40HP were hard and brittle. No leakage yet but certainly a liability. Replaced them with urethane lines and now they will outlive the motor.

my '94 40 is still intact, this season I've been premixing @ 100-1 as an insurance policy till I pull the plastic oil pump drive gear for inspection .<br />I believe by 1989 merc was using the better mikuni systems
