I got a question for all. I haven't has any problems since my last post until Tuesday. It ran fine all day tubing. I kept it at 20 mph, it ran fine. Until, i took my 16 yr iold out and was bringing it up around 25 or higher. I noticed when i hit some waves it surged along with my fuel gauge. I would slow down it would idle just fine ,I would throttle it up and it would be fine til i hit more waves. I orderd the rebuild kit for my carb, i heard the rochester carbs are very finicky. Does any one have any info to share?

Does anyone have a way to get a manual for a rochester carb? Or does anyone know what the set screws should be set at to start?

You would be money ahead ordering an edelbrock marine carb.

I also have the 4.3 Cobra with the Rochester dual jet. Once you clean it up and set it to specs you should be able to eliminate that as a problem. I think about 1 1/4 turns out should be a good initial setting. Make sure the throttle plates are set correctly also because if they are open too much it will be tough to adjust.
