89 Tracker txs

Wondering if anyone has modified the rod storage in an 89 tracker. Both the lockable rod storage and the side storage use 3 tubes that go into the deck. One problem is you can't put a spinning rod in the tubes as the diameter isn't large enough for the guides. Also makes it difficult to double up in the tube. I am considering cutting out the tubes and replacing with a hard rubber brace of some kind which should allow easier access. Any thoughts?

I just have the one side locker and it's all hollow, not like yours is setup. I would definatley modify the holes to fit your rods and suit your needs.
