I have been trying to get my boat going for a few months now. Problem started when I didnt notice a crack in the oil resevoir, so i got some rain in the tank. Cleaned out the tank new oil, empty cups on the carbs and changed water seperator, still not running very well I took it to a local mech. he told me I was getting weak spark to 3 of the 6 plugs, replaced power pack, then stator , and finally cdi assembly still nothing. I tried to start the boat agian and it has touble starting but starts after a few tries but will not stay on in idle and misses and sputters bad when accelerated a little. I was also told this motor is supposed to fire weak on one side of the bank until its accelerated? Any help would be greatly appreciated

What you are describing is a classic case of a fuel restriction. It would appear you are using a non experienced mechanic for Yamaha. Time to go through the fuel system.

I tried to clean out fuel system as best I could. Disconnected priming bulb and emptied out line and carbs, then ran chemtool through the lines and carb and let sit for a couple hours flushed out, re-connected added new fuel still wont start any other suggestions?

Obviously that effort didn't get the job done and now it is time to properly go through the system including replacing the fuel pumps and cleaning and rebuiding the carbs.
