8hp and 15 hp Merc 2003

I heard or read someplace that these motors are the same with just a different carb. Can I turn my 8 hp into a 15? They weigh the same and look identical<br /><br />Joe

Nope, 6 and 8 hp are of the same "family" and can be modified and the 9.9 and 15 are of the same "family", but 8 hp is smaller displacement (bore, pistons, ports, etc... so can't be done! If you are lookin for more top end power, buy a bigger motor!
