I have all the bolts loose and the powerhead can be rocked a small amount front to back and side to side. It looks like the shift linkage does not come into play on power head removal but I'm not 100% on this. I have the lower unit off, but not the extension.

What else needs to be removed?

Does the water tube stay in the housing?

I doubt it has ever been removed since it was built in 1995.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

So I broke the water tube of where it goes into the bottom of the exhaust pipe that bolts to the bottom of the power head.

Is this supposed to slide out with the power head?

I did remove the lower unit.

Propane, hammer and 3/8" longer shaft drill bit. Accept no substitutes! $30 so far and another $30 to go and she's back in business.
