Same motor, new question. My motor is a 1972 model 9.5 model #9222m. There are several different model years that look very similar. From 1966 to 1972 look basically the same (both 'Rude & Johnson) My question is - are the parts interchangable? Prop, lower unit etc.

There was very little change in the 9.5hp models. To pick a figure, I would say that 99.9% of the components are interchangable including the lower unit, prop etc.

The only significant change I'm aware of is the reed valves. I bought a '72 service manual for my '65 9.5 assuming most of the information was applicable, and for the most part it is. However, I did notice the diagrams of the reed valves look different to what I recall seeing on my motor.
