My $50 junk motor is running!!!!!

It will crank and run fine in forward or reverse, but the carb linkage on top (Throttle lever??) which makes contact with the curved piece that moves when you turn the tiller handle is not adjusted correctly for the Start or the Shift mode. I was able to adjust it to get it to idle some in the start mode, but when I move the tiller handle to the shift mode it dies out.

Thanks for any help/advice on how to adjust this correctly.

OK, now I am confused and I thank you guys for your patience and help.

Manual says the idle speed is factory set on this carb. I cannot find an idle speed adjustment on it other than at the top of the carb on the throttle lever.

Edit. FOUND IT!!

All Right!! She is running, shifting, peeing, idling...!

Next is to fix a broken off wire connector (if you look at the pic you will see a yellow alligator clip wire making the connection) and take her out on the lake for a test.
