9.8 hp question

I have a 9.8 merc 1985 my son pulled the boat up on the bank with the motor locked down and later tried to shove it back out. something snapped the swivel unit with the clamps and tiller arm is still attached but the power head including lower unit is separate.it appears to have snapped two plastic pcs that were held on with large snap rings. What are these called and can they still be bought? This little motor runs great and has electric start hope I can fix it..
