Just got a 9.8 merc at auction yesterday.....seems to be stuck in gear and won`t shift, actually the shift lever is broke off but will not move with vicegrips acting as a lever. I`ll be removing lower end for a new waterpump anyway but figured a lot of you guys have already been there.Always had the big merc outboards and never had a shift problem,so this is something new to me. Thanks in advance.
