9.9 & 15 Which wire to top coil?

1974-76 9.9 & 15hp. Which wire goes to top coil, Blue or Blue & White? I see diagrams showing both ways. One of them has to be wrong.

Top coil blue and white, bottom blue, at least on my 76 15 it is.

I just went out & looked at the 74 that I have not sold yet & BOTH coil wires are solid blue.

If you get it wired up & it does not fire, just change the plug wires & see if that helps.

After market (I think mine are Sierra Coils) are both blue, I happen to have my powerhead off in the garage with the flywheel off, I traced the top coil wire going back to the point that has the blue/white wire going to the driver coil.

Thanks guys. I am trying to design a timing fixture for it and only have a junker powerhead to work with (no wires).

Brad, yours looks like this, right?

Yes that is identical for wire colour.
