I just bought a Mercury 9.9 manual start. The sticker on the transom mount says june 2007.
I am curious as to wether I can run navigation lights and/or charge a deep cycle battery via the engine.
I realize I could have bought an electric start model an my issues would be moot, but I bought the only motor available this time of year that I didn't have to wait to arrive from the factory (Gander Mountain dealer).
I know the 9.9 electric and manual are virtually the same minus the starter, and misc electrical items.
What I don't know is what exactly is needed to convert.
I have found these part numbers but no info as to what is icluded or needed to complete the conversion.
Battery Charging Harness Kit....856558A 2
Lighting Regulator Kit....84125T
High Energy Alternator Kit (10 amp)....856557A 1
The 9.9 manual has charging capabilities already, right? I just need a harness to tap into?
