9.9 driveshaft converion( Have donor leg)

Ok have a excellent short shaft early 80's 9.9, have a bad lower unit that is a long shaft.
want to make the shorty long! have the LU out, how do you get the drive shaft out of the lower unit?

Have all the parts for the conversion just have some confusion on the shaft removal from the Lower unit.

Any help is great?
Do I need to pull the prop shaft?

Nothing tricky at all.----Remove waterpump and driveshaft pulls out.------Then simply push it in the other unit.
