9.9 evinrude (loud!)

I have a 1990 9.9 evinrude, and it seems loud to me?? I put a new prop on, which was the same as the old one, and put new seals in the lower unit. That is the only 2 things I have done, and for some reason it sounds loud to me!! It sounds loud right around the exhaust muffler (like its bubbling in the water part of the time) Whats goin on? I dont remember it being this loud last year???

Check to make sure that you didn't put the bearing carrier in upside down.

Have you got a good water stream at the pee hole? Have you got it in a bareel or on muffs? Rick.

Loud at idle or revving? Muffs will be louder than submerged!

has a good stream or water coming out! Its mounted to the boat in the lake, not on muffs. What/where would i check the bearing carrier?? Im lost there!!

Take your prop off and look ath bearing carrier, you will see the word UP , on top if it is correct.

im confused?? What is the "bearing carrier"? I took the prop offand seen the word "up" nowhere?!? Is this part the "HOUSING AY" or "PROPSFT"?? Im confused here!!! SORRY!!!

Confused me to. I think he meant to pull the flywheel off and there is the cam that the points ride on and it has an "Up" stamped on it. Your motor has no points so I decided to be silent cause I didn't know what was being referred to. Im guessing. Rick.
