Yes you can but I wouldn't reccommend it because:<br />1. It will be hard enough getting the powerhead free without the extra binding of the powerhead to the driveshaft<br />2. Taking the lower unit off only takes a few minutes (6 bolts and one screw on the gearshift rod)<br />3. Getting the powerhead back on again will be virtually impossible with the lower unit in place as you will need to line up the water tube from the wrong end
