I have a 9.9 Gamefisher outboard motor model #225.581996 short shaft and I am trying to find out what year it uis and who the manufacturer was. Can anyone help?

I'm not sure, but you can look up the serial number at sears parts.com

(I think the 225.xxxxxx number range is a rebadged Force outboard)

I have the same engine and it is a Force. I'm not sure what year, I think mine is a '94 or '96.
