No lead, King. Even in the days when almost all gas was leaded we sought out unleaded marine gas for our outboard engines.

Red sky at night. . .
JB
i was concerned of engine damage running a 74 motor without the lead, my 1976 85 hp merc uses an additive and runs fine the last 18 years i have had it. I figured the 74 johnson would also require the additive. thank you for your reply
I always thought lead was added to gas to protect valve seats. 2-strokes, of course, have no valves. What would an additive contribute to a 2-stroke, old or new?
