9.9 Johnson rope start

I have an '85,9.9 rope start and would like to remove the whole unit,clean it,and replace the pull rope .My book covers 91 and up and seems considerably different from the mechanism on mine.Could someone please help me with a brief step by step.Thanks!

go to brp-evinrude. parts & assess. engine diagram, follow prompt to your engine has blow up diagram.

10-4,have a diagram fron the website but need removal instructions...never tackled one of these before.Thanks for the response.
