9.9 merc, prop nut torque?????

Hi all,
title says it all, if anybody could tell me the torque to thignten the propeller nut on a little 9.9 mercury.

55 ft. lbs should do it...

Sounds like alot for a little nut?
I think you need a 1/2 inch socket.
Isn't 55 the torque for big motors??????
