My 1986 Mercury 9.9 has been a bit of a problem child as of late. It has been consistently hard to start and now when you pump the bulb fuel comes pouring out of the air intake. I'm thinking I've got a bad fuel pump diaphragm. I ca't get it to start at all now. Any suggestions out there?

I've had issues with several of those 9.9/15 motors this summer with the primer diaphragm disintegrating. Check all of the rubberized bits when you've got it apart. A full carb kit might be in order and it'll have everything you need for a proper rebuild.
