I am having a world of grief right now with my '91 yam 9.9 kicker. It was refusing to idle a while back and I went through the carb, but found nothing amiss, and when I put it back on, it was fine. Now, two or three trolling trips later, I am having problems again. Today, while out on buoy 10 fishing chinook, the dang thing starts crapping out again, coughing and occasionally backfiring and running on one cylinder. So we fiddled around on it and accomplished nothing, and came home. <br /><br />Went through the carb again today, and once again, it was pretty clean and normal looking but the thing still will not run right. <br /><br />What I'm hoping is that someone on this forum can look up a few specs in their service manual, since I don't have one yet. I would like to know the impedance for the coil and the crank position sending unit. Plug gap would also be nice to know. When I hold a plug up against the case and crank, there is spark from both wires, but I don't know if that really means that the spark delivery isn't the problem, and it seems unlikely at this point that the carb is at fault.<br /><br />Thanks!
