I am adding a kicker engine to my Parker boat.

The main engine is a 250hp Ox66 with twin power leads each going to two Group 27 batteries.

The kicker is a fully remote, electric start engine, 9.9hp Yamaha High Thrust Engine.

My question is this:

Can the kicker's battery leads be hooked up to one of the batteries that is also charged by the main engine??

If so, would damage be done to either engines charging system, or the battery, if the main engine was running while the kicker was running?

Thanks,

John

I see it done all the time with no adverse affects. the 9.9 really does not put out enough amps to do to much.

Rodbolt: I'm impressed that you're here to help, even on a Sunday morning.

I read somewhere on the internet that the charging of the kicker could screw up the charging system of my 250hp Ox66. This would only happen if they were both running.

John
