90 25 hp mercury?

I am looking at a 90 model short shaft, 25 hp, tiller steer with rope start. Any issues I should look for other than condition of lower unit oil and compression. I am not familiar with mercs at all. Thanks.

I suggest a test drive before you buy on all used engine. Sometimes it is not possible, but if you do you can hear and see how it starts and runs on the water.

Usually the water pump impeller is changed as a safety measure. Not an expensive nor elaborate process. Last one I bought was about $10.
