'90 4.3L OMC has no power in gear

I recently purchased a boat with a 1990 4.3L V6 OMC Cobra in it. At idle, the engine revs fine, but when put in gear youcan give it full throttle and the boat moves at idle speed. I've already replaced points, condenser, rotor, and plugs. The timing was a little off, so that was adjusted too. What next?

Stick with marine components. Your safety is paramount.<br /> There IS a difference.

What do the RPM's do. If they come up and it sounds the engine is racing you may have a spun hub.<br /><br />If not, you may want to check linkage movement. Then the compresssion check and go over the fuel system.<br /><br />Without more info, we're grasping at straws..
