Didn't see this one coming. Either did the guy installing a 1989 Evinrude 150 on my 1989 20ft. Arriva bowrider.I bought this motor late last year with plans of swapping it. I just had a Force 125 inline 4 taken off it. It has swim platforms on either side of the transom area. So when we tried a test fit there was no room for the engine to properly turn. This boat was built for an inline type or 60% V6 motor. The mechanic has access to a used 10 in. setback for a decent price that would allow the motor to clear the swim platforms when turning. (My motor is never running when boarding or leaving the platform) The Evinrude is an XL shaft as was my Force 125, seems to be standard for this kind of boat. I don't know if this setback is a fixed height or adjustable. What can I expect in change of performance other than having a larger motor?
