First let me say thank-you guys for the help getting the old 90 running again, couldn't do it without you. now the tac olny works when it wants to, I tightened all the wires on the back of the tac and also tightened all the wires on the engine but it didn't help one bit. not sure where the tac is conected to the motor. there is a brown wire with a white stripe in the motor that is not hooked to anything and also the same colored wire under the console that dosent have a home. anyone has any ideas??? I should mention that the motor is a 1988

Tacho wire should be connected to one of the posts on the rectifier. 2 posts will have yellow wires on them, tacho connects to one of those. The brown/white wire is for a trim gauge.
