So at the end of the boating seaon last fall i removed the bottom end from the engine to replace the impellor. I never bothered to put it back together until this weekend. And for some reason i dexided to try a rotate prop while it is in gear. Fro either the prop or the long rod that goes ibto the power head. Long story short ..it spins 100 percent freely when in netural. How ever when i oit it in forward or reverse wirh the gear selector. I can barely turj the prop or the main rod by hand. I can , but there is a lot of resistance there. If it was conected to the power head that would make sense. But it is still off the motor and in forward or reverse it is hard to move. Is that at all normal ? Something tells me i tried spinning it last year and it was MUCH easier to turn in gear . Or is ot normal with there to be ALOT of resistance when in gear OFF the power head. It takes two hands to try and turn the prop ? Thanks for any input.

When you tried turning it last year, was it still the old Impeller in there, and this year the new Impeller is in there?

Last year was indeed the old impelor when it was easier to move. And the new one is in there now and it seems to be hard to spin the prop nownonce in hear. Spins nive and free in netural. My father said he just disconecred the new impelor and everytging spins much easier. Is that normal for a new impelor to cause it to be that stiff. Will it break in at all and free up ?
